The Music Producer
 Fattjointz Recordings was originally formed by producer DJ Sure
Shot in early 1994. He's the original member and still producer of
the popular Hip Hop group the
Blak Prophetz. His previous production
works has earned him a reputation and is a very sort after producer for
some reputable artist who require a style that could not only
bring them into the mainstream genres of their choice but the expert
provision of a cutting edge sound far superior to most.
He has demonstrated that he cannot be tied down to one specific
genre and its such diversity that allows him to play with all
musical flavours to match the clients requirements. He is the son of an old
respected music Reggae DJ from Jamaica and worker from Florida and Atlanta
Georgia who spent most of his young life buying Reggae, Doo Wop &
Soul to assist his sound system in Jamaica.
The young Sure Shot's first introduction to music was at an early age
6 when he was a singer in his family band with brothers and sisters
who turned down the offer to perform on a well known TV show in the
70's called 'Opportunity Knocks'
hosted by the late Hughie Green. Sure Shot later turned to the funk drums,
D-Jaying with his father and
radio drama when he was 13. Having been a drummer in a funk & rock
band in his early teens you can understand why his rhythm section
had always given off such power.
He has managed to have worked with what he would call the ones who
inspired him the most which includes Afrika Bambaataa, Joyce Sims and Ced
Gee of Ultramagnetic MC's and many more. Sure Shot's techniques has
been compared to the likes of DJ Premier, Paul C in some instances
when compiling Hip Hop productions and has always been heavily
involved in the Jazz scene having worked with the likes of Us3 and
Urban Species. It was Giles Peterson of Radio One who persuaded Sure
Shot to work with Mintos of The Urban Species back in the mid 90's.
Sure Shot works with all genres may it be Rock, R&B, Hip Hop or Jazz
and it is this diversity that keeps him at the forefront of creating
sounds for music artists who requires their music to stand out
amongst the rest.
