Ok, so I'm a vinyl addict, my
collection has been growing like bad weeds in your garden. Strange
thing happened a few days ago
after speaking speaking with the guys as Akai. "Go check out the
Numark NS7 with the Itch Application, It might cure your addiction"
they said. "Yeah right" I said, but I'm a curious cat so I decided
to investigate.
The Low-down
: Like me there's plenty of dj's out there that are too afraid to
leave their vinyl. The NS7 is attractive and compact, it's
all-in-one approach reminded me of the old
D.I.S.C.O. FAL
kit but
obviously its hi-Tec and a hell of a lot sexier. It's very clean
with no overly complicated lights or digital displays telling you
the time, BPM's and whatnots. The 7 inch vinyl discs takes
some getting used to as I'm used to spinning 12's but its
performance outshone that hurdle. The most outstanding feature was
the accuracy in scratching, backspins and pauses, just like using
the 1200's. Another amazing feature I noticed was how you can scroll
through your songs/tracks on the laptop
with a single turn of a knob on the
mixer without having to touch the the laptop.
It's MAC & PC compatible software makes it attractive to both sides.
The software is quick, robust and efficient. No more slowing down
tracks and hearing slurred speech. This beast will slow stuff down
and maintain its pitch. In a nutshell, if you're behind one of these
you cannot help but sound like and look like you know your stuff.
